Maskil House

Maskil House (born Joshua Franklin Jackson) was born October 14, 1990 in Beaufort South Carolina. Music was an influence since conception. His mother a Jazz singer who’s career came to an abrupt end with the birth of her children. However Joshua’s dream would not dimmed  be so easily. His father was born in Far Rockaway Queens, which brought his strong northern lyricism. Never setting foot in New York until the later years of his life gives him the soul of the south with the mouth of the north. He moved to Atlanta Ga at a very young age where his father was arrested for armed robbery. This was a happening in his life which brought great motivation to his need to speak hope to his peers. His mothers family however have deep roots in Georgia. Where Joshua spent most of his life. There the music of soul singers where heavy. Al Green, The Dells, etc. too many to name. Joshua spent most of his GA life in the small town of Albany Ga. He then moved to  Tallahassee Fl. (pre T Pain. lol) and then Charleston South Carolina. and finally to Savannah. Prides himself on being the Tri-State representative.  Maskil was the term given him by his father shortly after his release from incarceration. meaning the enlightened one in Hebrew. House was later added by his close associate cause of the comment made one day that his rhyme scheme was complicated, like surgery. thus termed House MC. His lyrics are a product of a strong spiritual background and no nonsense upbringing. Musical influences are Common, Mos Def, Kanye West, Robin Thick, Nat King Cole, Billie Holiday, OutKast, Drake. Maskil House is a member of the writers team known as 4th Period. based in Savannah GA. Everything is up and coming and Maskil House is the front runner.
