Converse Auction

The Savannah Urban Arts Festival is AWOL All Walks of Life, Inc. largest annual fundraiser. Each year we feature the work of a local youth artist. The work is then auctioned off at the festival to raise funds to continue supporting AWOL’s Arts and Technology programs for at-risk youth. AWOL’s mission is to promote and provide self-awareness through the use of Poetry, Hip-Hop and Life. This mission is met by providing youth with after school and evening arts training programs in an environment that encourages respect, creativity, education and most of all non-violence.

Please take a look at the work of this years featured youth artist:

Akuma

Artist Name: Akuma Cyne   Age: 17       School: Savannah Arts Academy

Akuma Cyne is a seventeen year old local artist that attends Savannah Arts Academy and is a docent at the Davenport House. She is a self proclaimed comic book freak and a wannabe paranormal investigator. Her inspiration for her art comes from the everyday things around her.

A word from the SUAF Team

As you can clearly see, supporting youth arts in our community is very important. We are expecting great things from young Akuma as her talents continue to grow and be nurtured by the people around her.

In a study conducted by Americans for the Arts, YouthArts showed that arts programs really can have an impact on youth. Not only can such programs enhance young peoples’ attitudes about themselves and their futures, but the programs also can increase academic achievement and decrease delinquent behavior.
