The Producers’ Beat Battle
Prize: CASH PRIZE
Location & Time: Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum-Annex Bldg. Date: TBD
The Battle: The competition will consist of 8 producers head-to-head in a bracket style single-elimination competition. Each producer will be allowed 2 beats per round, a maximum of 45 seconds for each beat, and winners will be chosen by a panel of judges scoring 1-10 in the categories of Flavor, Feeling, and Overall Dope-ness. The highest score moves on and the last person standing wins. Each producer will need to have 6-8 original beats (you can recycle 2 beats in later rounds, if you so choose), but no biting or jacking, this will result in immediate disqualification if you try to pass off someone else’s work as your own. Beats should either be on CD or on a hard-drive in mp3 format and can also be uploaded through our SoundCloud link below.
Details: To be considered for the competition, each producer must submit 3 beats in mp3 format to prodgers@awolinc.org along with their full legal name, producer name, and address. Beat can be also uploaded to SoundCloud, but please be sure to add your name and the title of the track when uploading. You must also complete a SUAF Performer Application and provide a non-refundable entrance fee of $10 no later than Friday March 31, 2010.
