SUAFilm presents-Film Screening-“Style Wars”-7:00-9:00pm
Style Wars is the original Hip Hop documentary. Directed by Tony Silver and Produced by Tony Silver and Henry Chalfant, it was awarded the Grand Prize for Documentaries at the 1983 Sundance Film Festival. STYLE WARS is regarded as the indispensable document of New York Street culture of the early ’80s, the filmic record of a golden age of youthful creativity that exploded into the world from a city in crisis.

Feature Film-P.A.T.H A Hip-Hop Documentary Directed by Award winning Miami film maker, Dan Perez
P.A.T.H. (Preserving Archiving and Teaching Hiphop History), is a company founded by Miami emcee and grassroots Hiphop activist Brimstone127. In the summer of 2007 P.A.T.H hosted its first ever Hip-Hop summer camp for youth ages 12-18 in Miami, FL. The films documents the program as youth learn new things about the real roots of hip hop history and how to incoporate the positive aspects of hip hop into their music and creative abilities.
SUAF Indie Film-A series of 10-minute short film submissions will also be shown from local, regional and student indie film makers.

Dezaray Dawn is an exciting new artist on the future soul scene, possessing a voice which resonates with the depth of both emotion and experience. This German-born, Southern-raised Army brat is a self-described gypsy, having lived in 2 countries, 4 states, and 6 US cities by the time she was 16. She attended 16 schools in 12 years, and Dezaray states: “When nothing else was solid in my life, there was always music.
